Extend telephone lines with TC1900 RS-232 or Fiber Telephone Extenders
Applications
The TC8116 Fiber Optic Multiplexer provides
a flexible, inexpensive method for connecting async/sync terminals,
printers, and status collecting devices. It is often used in harsh
environments where EMI/RFI interference, ground loops and lightning
conditions may exist. The TC8116 can also be used to extend telephone
lines to remote locations with the Model TC1900 RS-232 or Fiber
Telephone Extenders.
Description
The TC8116 is an 8 or 16-channel fiber optic
multiplexer with interchangeable interfaces and built-in power
redundancy. Optical redundancy is optional. It supports data rates
up to 56Kbps*. The TC8116 is available in four configurations:
8 Channel Async with No Control/Handshaking-
8 Channel Sync or Async with Control/Handshaking
16 Channel Async with No Control/Handshaking-6 Channel Sync or
Async with Control/Handshaking
Standard interfaces include RS-232, RS-422,
RS-485 (2 or 4 wire), TTL & Dry Contact Closure. Synchronous
versions must be RS-232. Electrical interfaces are modular and
interchangeable in 4-channel increments at any time--before or
after installation. Because different interfaces can be mixed
in 4-Channel increments, a wide variety of interface combinations
are available.

Individual Local & Remote Loopback
6 Troubleshooting LEDs per Channel
12VDC Standard Power Supply
Optional 24VDC, -48VDC or 115/230VAC Power
Rackmount or Standalone
Applications
The TC8300 is a remarkably flexible one-to-four
channel T1/E1 Fiber Optic Multiplexer that is frequently used
to link PBXs, Channel Banks, Customer Premise Equipment and M13
Muxes to DSX-1 Cross Connects.
Description
The TC8300 is a 1 to 4 channel T1/E1 Fiber
Optic Multiplexer that offers several advanced features including
extensive diagnostics, extra data channels, management software,
power and optical redundancy, jitter removal and a replaceable
Line Interface module. It is available both multimode and single
mode and is compatible with all popular types and sizes of optic
cable. The standard loss budget is 15dB, higher budgets are optional.
Distances to more than 100km are possible with the single mode
1550nm option (34dB loss budget).
Diagnostics are extensive. Each channel offers
six LED indicators to ease installation and troubleshooting -
one each for RxD, Alarm, T1/E1 Signal Loss, BPV violations, Remote
Loopback and Remote Signal Loss. Individual channels provide 4
DIP switches, accessible from the front panel, to control settings
for line code, line length, local Loopback or remote Loopback.
Dry contacts are also provided.
The extra out-of-band data channels are intended
for multi-purpose communications. Up to eight RS-232 channels
are available in addition to the T1/E1 channels. The out-of-band
RS-232 channels can be used for telephone service with the Model
TC1900 "Quick-Talk" Phone Extender.
Power redundancy is standard; optical redundancy
is optional. Both provide automatic switchover in the event of
failure. The TC8300 is transparent to the framing format and supports
all applicable standards and line codes including CCITT G.703
and AMI/B8ZS/HDB3 Line Codes. Line distances from 0 to 655 feet
(for connecting to DSX-1 cross connects) are supported. Jitter
is eliminated because of a built-in elastic buffer and jitter
attenuator.
TC8300S is the Standalone/Wallmount Unit. The
TC8300R is the PC Card version that fits into TCRM191 or TCRM195
19" Rackmount Card Cages. Fiber optic connectors are ST or
FC. Input power is 12VDC (standard); optional 24VDC, -48VDC, or
115/230VAC with a built-in or external power supply. Special four-position
and two-position feed-thru detachable terminals are provided for
connecting the T1/E1 twisted pairs. An extreme temperature version
(-20ºC to 70ºC), Model TC8300T, is also available.

4-28 Channel Telephone/Data Fiber Optic Multiplexer
(TC8800 Series) Prices Start at $1,680.00 ea.
Extend Up to 28 Telephone Lines and/or RS-232,
RS-422, TTL, Dry Contact Closure, Dry Contact Detector
2-Wire Analog PBX and Key System Compatible
Multimode or Single Mode (850/1300/1550nm)
Built-In Power Redundancy
Optical Redundancy (Optional)
Hardened Temperature Version (Optional)
Standalone or Hot Swappable Rackmount C
Applications
The TC8800 is typically used to link or extend data and telephone
lines in campus networks. In many instances the TC8800 can replace
expensive channel banks.
Description
The TC8800 is a 4-to-28 channel telephone and data fiber optic
multiplexer that extends multiple telephone lines and data channels
to remote sites such as other buildings in campus networks. The
TC8800 Series consists of TC8800 (FXS), TC8801 (FXO), and TC8802
(Data). Users can mix or match telephone channels or RS-232, RS-422,
TTL and Dry Contact Interfaces in increments of four up to a maximum
of 28 channels. For example, a user could multiplex 20 telephone
channels and 8 RS-232 data channels.
The TC8800 Series converts 2-wire FXS to fiber optics on the
telephone side with ring down capability and FXO on the PBX side.
Distances up to 80km are typical over single mode fiber, 4km over
multimode fiber. Because the TC8800 digitizes the analog signals
(PCM), voice quality does not degrade over extended distances.
It supports Telephone channels from 300Hz to 3.4Khz and asynchronous
data rates to 19.2 Kbps. Twelve LEDs are available for status
monitoring and diagnostics. A dry contact alarm is optional. Diagnostic
LEDs for each channel include Tx, Rx, Hook and Ring.
The TC8800R PC Card version requires the TCRM191 or TCRM195
19" Rackmount Card Cage. Each TC8800R card can be removed
or installed on the TCRM191 without powering down the system ("hot-swappable").
The TC8800S Standalone version currently supports up to 8 telephone
or data channels. An extreme temperature version (-20°C to
70°C), TC8800T, is also available.
The TC8800 Series works with all types and sizes of multimode
or single mode fiber optic cable at 850/1300/1550nm. Fiber optic
connectors are ST or FC. RJ-11F ports are provided on the rear
side to connect with telephones. Power redundancy is standard;
optical redundancy is optional. Power is 12Vdc; 115/230VAC and
24VDC are optional.
