    Applications

The TC1880 Micro Multiplexer provides a cost effective method for connecting large numbers of async or sync terminals, printers and status collecting devices. It is often used in harsh environments where EMI/RFI interference and lightning conditions may exist. The TC1880 can also be used to extend up to eight telephone lines to remote locations with Model TC1900 RS-232 or Fiber Phone Extenders.

    Channel Surfer" 2-Channel WDM
    Fiber Optic Multiplexer
(Model TC4001) Prices Start at $500.00 ea.

Doubles Use of Existing Fiber Optic Cable
    Transparent to Data Format
Passive Device - No External Power
    Needed
    Standalone or Rackmount

    Description

The “Channel Surfer,” Model TC4001 Fiber Optic Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM), enables 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths to be transmitted simultaneously on the same fiber optic cable. The direction of the optical signals can be in the same direction or opposite directions. Transparent to incoming data, the TC4001 effectively doubles existing cable capacity by multiplexing two separate channels over one single mode fiber. Dual two-channel units are also available.

Each TC4001 unit separates incoming optical signals between 1310nm and 1550nm. Thus, a user needs to connect the TC4001 to a device (transceiver, modem, etc.) with a 1310nm single mode transmitter at one end and a 1550nm single mode transmitter at the other end. The TC4001 fiber optic connectors are ST or FC. Because it is a passive device, it requires no power. The TC4001R is the rackmount card that can fit into TCRM191/2 or TCRM195/6. The TC4001S is the standalone/wallmount unit.

    Applications

The TC4001 is ideal for situations where existing fiber optic cable capacity is limited. Because it doubles existing cable capacity by transmitting bi-directional signals over a single fiber, it eliminates the need to install additional fiber optic cable.

    Analog/Intercom/Data Fiber Optic Multiplexer
(TC8000 Series*) Prices Start at $1,088.00 ea.

    Up to 28 Analog/Intercom and/or RS-232, RS-422, TTL, Dry Contact & Closure Channels
Voice Bandwidths from 300Hz to 3.4Khz
    Multimode or Single Mode (850/1300/1550nm)
    Built-In Power Redundancy
    Optical Redundancy (Optional)
    Rackmount or Standalone

    Applications

The TC8000 is frequently used to link voice and data communications devices in telecommunications and SCADA environments. It is also used in harsh environments where ground loops, EMI/RFI interference and lightning conditions may occur.

    Description

The TC8000 Series* is a highly specialized 4-to-28 channel analog and data Fiber Optic Multiplexer that extends 600 Ohm audio and data channels to remote sites in a campus network. Users can mix or match audio/intercom channels or RS-232, RS-422, TTL and Dry Contact Interfaces in increments of four up to a maximum of 28 channels. The intercom interface is for 4-wire voice communication (handsets) and the analog interface is 600 Ohm transformer coupled. It is typically used for Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) applications.

Since the TC8000 digitizes the analog and voice signals (PCM), voice quality does not degrade over extended distances. Distances to 80 km* are typical over single mode fiber, 4 km over multimode fiber.
It supports analog audio channels from 300Hz to 3.4KHz and asynchronous data rates to 19.2Kbps. Diagnostics include LEDs for "Alarm," "Power A," "Power B," "Tx," "Rx" and "Sync". Power redundancy is standard, optical redundancy is optional. Fiber optic connectors are ST or FC. Electrical connectors are RJ-11. Power is 12VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube. 24VDC and -48VDC options are also available.

The TC8000 is available standalone or rack mount. Standalone versions (TC8000S) support up to 8 channels, rack mount versions (TC8800R) support up to 28 channels. The TCRM195 19" rackmount card cage supports up to 8 channels and TCRM191 19" rackmount card cage supports up to 28 channels. Four RJ-11 ports are provided on the rear side to connect with handsets or customer's audio devices. A hardened temperature version (-20°C to 70°C), Model TC8000T, is also available for harsh environments.

The TC8000 is based on modern FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology. As a result, it benefits users by enabling optimum flexibility, low current consumption, high reliability and maximum MTBFs.

*Note: For ordering purposes, TC8001 is the Intercom version, TC8002 is the Analog version and TC8003 is the Data version.

Channel Stacker 8 - 128 Channel Fiber Optic Multiplexer
(Model TC8108) Prices Start at $1,045.00 ea.

    8 to 64 Channels (Expandable to 128)
Data Rates Up to 38.4 Kbps (32 Ch.)
    Built-In Power Redundancy
    Optional Optical Redundancy
    Local Dry Contact Relay Alarm
    Built-In Test Signal Generator
    Local & Remote Loopback Features
    Multimode or Single Mode (850/1300/1550nm)
Extend telephone lines with TC1900 RS-232/Fiber Phone Extender
    Rackmount or Standalone

    Applications

The TC8108 Channel Stacker® is an inexpensive, reliable and flexible method for connecting large numbers of printers, terminals and status collecting devices. It is often used in harsh environments where EMI/RFI interference, ground loops or lightning conditions may exist. The TC8108 can also be used to extend telephone lines to remote locations with the Model TC1900 RS-232/Fiber Phone Extender.

    Description

The “Channel Stacker”, Model TC8108 Fiber Optic Multiplexer, maximizes user flexibility by offering field interchangeable interfaces, modular expandability from 8 to 64 channels and power/optical redundancy. It supports most popular interfaces including RS-232, RS-422, TTL, RS-485* and Dry Contact Relays. It supports data rates up to 38.4 Kbps*. Power redundancy is standard, optical redundancy is optional. Both feature automatic switchover.

Each TC8108 unit consists of an 8-channel base unit and up to seven optional 8-channel add-on PC Cards. These PC Cards can be “Stacked” (in 8-Channel increments) up to 64 Channels. A 128-Channel version is possible by using a fan-out cable to expand each RJ-11 port into two RS-232 Async channels. For units with more than 24 Ch., the TCRM191 Rackmount Card Cages are required.

Because the electrical interfaces are modular, they are interchangeable at any time--before or after installation. A user can mix up to four different interfaces (in 2-Channel increments) on each 8-Channel card. Each PC expansion Card is identified by a card number defined by a front panel DIP switch.

Diagnostics are extensive and include Local and Remote Loopback, 22 LEDs, and a Test Signal Generator. LEDs include “Tx”, “Rx”, “Alarm”, “Vcc”, “RxA”, “RxB”, & “PWR”. Individual “Tx” and “Rx” LEDs are provided for each channel. The built-in test signal generator verifies both device and fiber optic link operation. This feature benefits users by helping technicians verify that both local & remote devices and the fiber optic link are operating normally. No other test equipment is required for link and device verification.

The TC8108 is compatible with all types and sizes of multimode (850/1300nm) or single mode (1300/1550nm) fiber optic cable. Fiber optic connectors are ST or FC; electrical connectors are RJ-11. Power is 12VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube. An extreme temperature version (-20° to 70°C), Model TC8108T, is also available.

Fiber optic connectors are ST; FC is optional. Electrical connectors are RJ11. Power is 9 to 12VDC or 115/230VAC with a power card (Model TCRMPS-01) or a power cube.
